The Great Commission
Commission is defined as "authority or command to act for, in behalf of, or in place of another." The local church has been authorized and commanded to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
Preaching, Teaching, Printing, Video...
As technology has advanced, we have sought new ways to get the Gospel to the Deaf. For the hearing community, radio, TV, printed information and the internet provide many opportunities to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
However, the Deaf cannot hear the radio, most TV programming doesn't have subtitles, printed information is difficult for the Deaf to understand and the internet is too expensive for most Deaf.
Through signed video, printed material written for the Deaf and preaching in sign language the Deaf are able to "hear" the message of the Gospel and receive Christ as their Saviour. Lives are changed through the saving power of Christ.
Bible Training in the Language of the Deaf
Signs of Life Missions, in cooperation with Bible Baptist Church of the Deaf, provide classes in sign language to provide the Deaf the opportunity to learn God's Word and experience God's call on their lives.
God can use the Deaf to reach the Deaf. They just need the training to equip them to get the job done!
